everyone who was disappointed with tma's ending should listen to the silt verses. they are very different but you will get to experience a brilliantly crafted ending that is still incredibly tragic. I cried so hard my mom came to check on me. I kept crying for at least a week after, just thinking about it because it was so good. the silt verses

and the tragedy was actually well-written! they made me sympathize with Carson, despite me disliking him before. that whole section of him and Val? masterpiece. "the opposite of a sacrifice is a gift" !!! "my time with you, that was a gift. hearing your voice again now when I thought I never would. watching you walk away like this, that's the greatest gift" I am in tears again. they are so !!! god. if I start talking about Faulkner and Carpenter I will never shut up it's just so well crafted and executed and voice actors performed perfectly and i love it so much

More like this

feeling controversial so. daisy elias fandom misogyny parallels

one is a queer woman masculinized because of the belief that violence and single-mindedness are masculine things (plus the idea that masculinity is “less work” and “less effort” and so she’d become more masculine as she becomes more dedicated to the hunt, despite that. not generally being true, Especially for people societally recognized as Men) while the other is a queer man repeatedly feminized due to his indirect control over varying aspects of the plot and treated as more incompetent because of it

literally just begging yall to acknowledge the stereotypes you’re perpetuating while posting. please. someone being violent doesn’t mean they’re masc. someone being manipulative doesn’t mean they’re feminine

The silt verses be like "found family (derogatory)" and I think that's so neat of them

crazy how i found myself an interest so niche (the literary influences in gormenghast as a piece of existentialist fiction) as to have like. virtually zero audience. me myself and i and the people i inflict my thoughts onto

No but Faulkner and Carpenter as the two mouths of the Trawler Man

Faulkner as the mouth devouring, always hungry, eating up followers and faith and chewing them up and swallowing them down, trying to make them a part of him and trying to fill the hole, the gaping casam, that like a waterfall can never be filled

Carpenter as the mouth returning, who gives of herself and gives and gives and gives, to gods and faiths and people always people, even when she doesn't want to, even when she has nothing left to give, pouring love like blood from an open wound until all her veins are spent, until the marrow has been sucked from her bones

Faulkner who destroys both himself and the faith, and the god of that faith, trying to take all the world into himself, and Carpenter who begs the god of her own death to let her die useful

Carpenter who reaches out to Faulkner heart in hand, even at the very end, and Faulkner who can't help but bite the hand that feeds him as he eats her heart whole

Perhaps 2026 will be the year when I finally make an ex libris stamp
